Q: What is your vision of the perfect world...?
Nevermind how we got there for the moment.....only describe as you imagine it the world you would like to see in the future....the world you want to live in.

In response to the question, "can we change the world as we know it? I say yes. Can we ever have a perfect world, one where peace and harmony exist and no one lacks? Not in the world as we know it today...or ever.

Nice thoughts, but ultimately unachievable. I figure the world is going to be hanging on till the end, never achieving the "perfection" that people hope for . I'll settle for a safe home for as many as possible, food and health for the same. Our Ideals will not be achieved in this life.....I think "heaven" in whatever definition of the word you choose to believe in is the only way it could be achieved.

Perfect world -
where I can have my own space,
where I can go anywhere without fear of harm,
where I can speak without fear of being condemned,
where I can ask questions without fear of being called stupid,
where I won't ever go hungry.
where I can learn any skill I want to.

That's all i want.

I do not believe perfection is something that is achieavable in this life.

My idea of a better world would be one where no one is forced to live for the benefit of another. Nobody is given anything, they earn it in whatever way that they can. Fear not for the people who can not provide for themselves because in my world they would not exist.

YES...we can change the world if we only live the life of a person that wants to. If we lock ourselves away and ignore the problems around us nothing will change. If we are an active part of a community we will influence others in that community. Man is a social creature...he can do wonders.
I live in Israel. I just spent 3 days in Palestine as a guest of a family that I love as my own. The purpose of this visit was to be the Godfather of a new baby boy, to hold him while he was ritually circumcised. This is a practice that Jews and Muslims both adhere to.
For me as a Jew to take part in a Muslim religious ceremony during these days of war and strife is unusual; but no one or anythng could have stopped me. As I said, These people are like family.
So, this little action of mine, totally non political,just might have opened the eyes of a few people on both sides.
So, back to the main point, if we live our lives and try to set an example of how thing could or should be, the world eventually will change.

Doomed to fail before you've even begun. You have to believe it is achievable and give hope to your self and others to make it a possibility......don't give up without even trying. When you tell yourself something can be done....you are half way there.

Please, Lifehappens, change your mindset....I'm telling you now that it can and it will.

Fear not for the people who can not provide for themselves because in my world they would not exist.

You're entitled to your opinion, FreeMark, but don't you think that's a little harsh.........So....let's see.....I guess we wouldn't have any retirement homes in your world......no intellectually disabled, perhaps, either.....Think about the details to your vision, FreeMark, is that really what you would want?

Exactly....it's not going to change itself.....and the world has been led in the wrong direction for far too long....it's never too late to change.

And that is how the world will change because people as yourself set an example to those who are not sure how to be or how they can be or that there is even a light on the horizon for a brave new world. I'm sorry I was just applying the a little magic to the problem. I didn't think you wanted a rational response. You asked for my perfect world, in a perfect world such people would not exist. People would not retire poor. The disabled would not be.

What did you think I was advocating... liquidating them?

On a practical level I realize that we must do something to care for these people. It is against my stated vision that no man is forced to live for another but I realize a compromise must exist. Much of the intellectually disabled can provide for themselves and I think they are better off when they do. But I am reasonable enough to understand that some must be taken care of. In fact I feel a great deal of sorrow for those that must be taken care of because they have to sacrifice their dignity to do so. I believed this intellectually before the events of my life allowed me to believe it more spiritually.

I guess what I am saying is that I know that my perfect world does not exist. Of course I started out admitting that I don't really believe in the concept of perfection.

I wasn't meaning to be too harsh on you there....you have no need to be sorry! I guess I was going on a more practical level in a sense.......I just expected a more positive use of imagination when stepping out of the boundary of todays life.
And yes I did want Your perfect world.....so sure, fine...that point is duly taken..but it's good to hear the word 'Compromise' in there!

I guess what I am saying is that I know that my perfect world does not exist. Of course I started out admitting that I don't really believe in the concept of perfection.

And this is where compromise comes into action.....We could never have a world where absolutely everyone has what they want as their definitive perfect vision but we can come close by all being wise and kind enough to coexist... being respectful of everyones right of existence and compromise for the greater good of mankind.

Actually I don't really believe in the concept of perfection either...I just find it as a good word to utilize here and there.

I believed this intellectually before the events of my life allowed me to believe it more spiritually.

How do you feel spiritually....? What do you believe in, FreeMark? What has happened in your life to lead you to where you are now....?

I appreciate everything you share, FreeMark, as the more I learn from others the closer I come to knowing myself.

What do I believe in?
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.

He descended into hell.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

What has happened?
A lot. Some bad, some good. Mostly great. It's just life and you have to love it even when it is horribly cruel to you.

SA lot. Some bad, some good. Mostly great. It's just life and you have to love it even when it is horribly cruel to you.

That sounds like my life....there's good...there's bad ...but through it all you cope and live and love life and whatever life throws your way.....deal with it.........
